Hello Everyone!! Well I did it again, I typed my latest blog post from my new phone went to preview it and lost everything that I'd typed! You'd think I would've learned to save by now!!
Anyways Colter had a good couple of appointments, last week started off with Dr.Hardy and he was very pleased with how Colter looked and happy with his ECHO. The function of Colter's heart still isn't great but stable, which is good. At that appointment they did a blood gas on him (mind you he slept through the entire thing, didn't even let out a whimper) and we're so happy to let you all know that Colter had another NORMAL blood gas!! Wednesday, we went to the Synergis clinic and Colter did wonderful, babies shouldn't have to be tough but Colter sure as heck is!! He cried just when they put the medicine in but then stopped once I picked him up. He actually started jabbering with the nurse. Then Thursday we saw our new Pulmonologist, Dr. Smith. He reassured us that he was the best in the state, (there's only 2 of them!!) it's always nice to come across a Doc with a little sense of humor! But he was just amazed at how great Colter looked after everything he's been through. He thought Colter's lung sounded good, and thought it sounded like he was getting good expansion, and doesn't believe his lung is adhesed to his thorax anymore. This was all great news, all tell you what it never gets old hearing good news!
Our latest appointment was on Tuesday and that appointment was with his pediatrician Dr.Hall, it was his 4 month old developmental screening. He did good, he is in the 90% for development, which is actually quite amazing! Taking into consideration he was so so sick and on ECMO. Unfortunately, he got really upset right before the appointment for probably the last 10-15 minutes of the car ride and then when I took him out of the car it was really windy and really cold. The poor guy has a carseat cover but the wind snuck in there and was taking his breath away. So when we finally got him into the room, I got him undressed and he was white as a ghost! Dr.Hall was very worried, and although my motherly instinct was telling me he was fine, that he just didn't get a real chance to recover before being blasted with cold air. They needed to take extra precautions, so they ordered an ECHO which came back (Colter's) normal. When they turned on the lights after the ECHO Colter was nice and pink again. Dr. Hall was much happier with the way he looked, but told me she almost admitted him. So because Colter wasn't looking that great when we got there she rescheduled Colter to get his vaccinations till this coming week.
Since then, Colter's been doing good. Last night we got a little giggle out of him! It was so cute, absolutely heart warming! Today he's been real tired, he must be growing. He's literally been sleeping all day. As for the rest of the family I have to tell you all how proud I am of Tyler! He got his 1st superintendent job!! YAY!! It's going to be a lot of hard work because the golf course is so backwards and really hasn't had anyone out there who's known what they're doing. But I think it's going to be a great challenge for him and I'm more than confident that Tyler is fully capable of turning it around. That being said he started work last Friday so I experienced my first day's completely on my own and I was pleasantly surprised! Ashlynn is such an AMAZING big sister, I wasn't lying when I said that girl truly is wise beyond her years. She is so tender and loving with Colter, it melts my heart to watch the two of them. I'm also very thankful for Millie, she has been so helpful. She's been doing preschool with Ashlynn and let me tell ya, that girl will be reading by summer. What a smarty pants she is! I just have to say that I'm so blessed, so so blessed. Everything in life couldn't be better, the Lord really is providing for us. I've let go of control and trust that God has this, he's going to take care of our family, he's shown us that.
I will certainly update you all next week after his appointment, hope everyone is well! I can't wait till Colt man is well enough to have a huge celebration! Life truly is beautiful, I hope you all have a great week! xoxo
