I have WONDERFUL news!!!

Hello friends and family,

What a wonderful summer it's been! Hard to believe it's over already! Ashlynn started school today, so it's "officially" Colter and I's first day at home with out her. It's rather quiet, and I think Colter's missing his best friend. Ashlynn was definitely ready for Kindergarden to start as she kept asking me this morning,
"Mom when are you going to leave?"
"Mom are you going to leave now?"
It was safe to say her 1st day started off without a hitch! I'll be anxious to hear all about it after school!

Colter is doing just fabulous! I couldn't ask for things to be going any better than they're right now! At his cardiology appointment last week the Doc was so very pleased with Colter. He actually looked at me and said,
"Well let's get rid of that last med."
WHAT???!!! So here I am thinking we're about to start a ween schedule, NOPE! He said just take him off!!! So awesome, I can't tell you how weird it feels not giving him any meds other than his 1/2 a tablet of baby aspirin. I constantly feel as if I'm forgetting something really important. He will see Colter in 1 month to make sure his blood pressure is ok, if it is then we are spreading out his appointments a little further than we have in the past! They also did an Echo and the Doc said everything looks real stabil.  His PA's still look as if they're getting good velocity's through them, and his truncal valve looks really nice! Heart function is still at the low side of normal, so all in all LOOKIN GOOD!! He mentioned that he would speak to his Doc at Children's to see if he thinks we could push his Cath procedure back a little. I still haven't heard back yet, and as I've learned in the past no news is good news.

Colter also did a screening with the Child Development Center to check him for any developmental delays and I'm SOOOOO thrilled to tell ya that he came back normal! No delays!! So impressive, just to think about the narcotics he was on, ECMO it's truly a miracle that he is in good health both physically and mentally.

In other BIG news, I'm so happy to share with all of you that I've been asked to speak at the Missoula Heart Walk on behalf of Colter. I've been asked to tell his story as it is such an inspiration! Hopefully we can start spreading awareness and educating folks about Congenital heart defects and heart disease in children! I'm so thankful for the opportunity! Also they mentioned writing a feature artical in the October newsletter at the American Heart Association. But I haven't heard anything back on that yet so we will just wait and see. But things are moving and grooving over here, just enjoying each day and taking it all in. We're so excited about the opportunities God is placing in our paths! We're always thankful for good health, blessed just so blessed!

I hope some of you can make it to the Heart Walk! Please check out the "fundraising" section of the blog (top right) For more details. I encourage you all to donate even if it's just 5.00!! Every little bit helps out!!  I've set a goal of 1,500.00 so I would GREATLY appreciate the help in donations in  honor of Colter! If you know you can't make it and just want to donate here's a direct link to do so
