Time is FLYING!

Well it's time for another update for you all. Colter had his Cardiology appointment on Tuesday and Dr. H was very happy with the way Colter looks. We discussed his upcoming Catherization, and he asked I've I had concerns and so on. I really feel confident that it's going to go great, Colter is so much healthier and stronger now then he was with the first time. I know he'll do great, I can't help but be a little nervous, but hey I'm his mom and that's my job!! On with the Echo, his Echo looked good, heart function is  about 25-30% but looking good.

Well just when we started to drop appointments we end up adding more for something different! Colter  had a developmental screening with the NICU and it was really fun! First they tested his cognitive abilities and fine motor skills. What they would do was hand him a variety of toys and see how he played with them, if he transferred them from hand to hand and so on. Then they put him on the floor and watched and scored his gross motor skills. They wanted to see if he could roll over, stand up ect. He was all smiles during the first half but the second they put him on the floor and started to hover over him he was like," Get me outta here!!" But he ended up scoring very well, he scored at his age (8mos) in Neurological and fine motor skills and as a 6 month old in his gross motor skills. This is to be expected cause Colter was so sick for so long he missed all of that important time to gain his strength like most babies. So to give Colter the boost he needs we're going to start PT. I'm excited for him I think it's really going to help him out. So lets see, he gets to drop pediatric appointments every other week to a regular baby schedule (9mo, 12mo) but keeps Cardiology appointments at every other week, OT/speech/dietary once a month and now PT 2-3x's a month, YUP we're going, going, going!!!

As far as feeding goes it's going..Still on the feeding tube but he's off during the day. I take him off his continuous feeds at 10am then at noon I try to do a solid feeding with him along with a bolus, then bolus at 3,5,7. He gets a solid feeding at 7 as well and then back to the pump at 8pm. It's busy....

Well we are enjoying every minute with our family. Gosh what a joy it is to watch our babes grow, and I'm so lucky to get to watch and be apart of it everyday! We are planning our first away trip as I type, we leave tomorrow! We're going to see Tyler's sister, we are so excited!! I will say packing for Colter is uhhhhhh can you say HEAVY!! OMGOOODNESS it takes a lot to take him pack that boy up for a weekend! But we are SOOO looking forward to it, I'll fill you all in when we get back! Love you all <3

  1. Bobbie, you are such an amazing Mother........& writer! You are an incredibly strong person & pray that God continues to brighten your life & family! Thank you SO MUCH for the wonderful & inspiring letter you sent awhile back when we were dealing with Hailee's diagnosis. I am so sorry I haven't had a chance to connect with you or even say thank you for the kind gesture. I meant more to me than you will ever know; it was just what I needed during my struggle to stay strong for her! Life, as you I am sure know, has been crazy busy & we have been living in the moment ever since! I continue to pray for Colter & your family! I hope we can get together or connect soon. Much love ~ Michelle Winstone
